Bespoke Next Step Cards training

If your service would like us to deliver bespoke training, then please contact us via email at cwp.nextstepcards@nhs.net. All we need is a group of (up to) 30 practitioners – we can come to your venue, at your convenience – and the group can consist of practitioners from different services/schools/provisions if needed.

Virtual Reflective Spaces – upcoming date in September

We have now held three Next Step Cards virtual Reflective Spaces, which were really interesting and those who attended found them very useful. Thank you to everyone who attended! 
Our Reflective Spaces are for practitioners using Next Step Cards to connect, as well as share best practices and challenges.
Our discussions included:
•    Techniques for using the Next Step Cards
•    Common challenges
•    Shared practical strategies
•    Impact of the Next Step Cards
•    Integration of the Next Step Cards with other methods
Our next Reflective Space date is on Monday 22nd September 2025 at 12.00 pm. Further dates will be sent out in our October Newsletter.

Information sheet for parents/carers 

You have asked us to provide an information sheet for parents and carers, when you are asked about using the cards. So we have produced the following which you can also find on the Resources section of our website.

The sheet clearly explains what Next Step Cards are, how they work, why they are used and the potential benefits. We hope you find it useful.

Do you work for CWP? Would you like to be a Next Step Card trainer?

Due to increased demand for training, we are looking to expand our team of Next Step Cards trainers. When thinking how to persuade you to become part of the team, who better to ask than one of our trainers who has been delivering the training successfully for many years: 

“I have been part of the Next Step Cards training team for a number of years and really enjoy delivering the training. The training is always warmly received and is a positive interaction with our partner colleagues. 

“The commitment, at most, is about three days across the year. The training is scripted and you always deliver with another experienced colleague so there is little prep. Jenny is amazing at setting up the training and dealing with all of the admin so all I need to do is get to the venue! 

“I would really recommend joining the training team especially if you are looking to get training experience and demonstrate wider skills for your CV."

Next Step refresher training sessions - coming soon!

We hear from you that there is a demand for refresher training sessions for previously trained Next Step Cards practitioners.

These will be taking place online starting in early 2026, and we will share the details of the refresher sessions and how to book as soon as we can, so keep an eye out!
 

Hold the date - Next Step Better Practice Event – 19 November 2025

Following the success of our Next Step Best Practice Event last year, we will be holding another one on Wednesday 19th November 2025 – venue and full details to follow.

Details about our incredible guest speaker will follow in September, along with an invite to the Event.

Our aim is to provide you with an interactive and informative day – with a focus on the Step Cards and how to help your client progress and achieve their goal.
